Family Photography
Genuine connections, beautifully captured
What to Expect
Real families, real moments
Children grow impossibly fast. The way your toddler runs into your arms, the gap-toothed grin, the way your family fits together on a lazy afternoon -- these things change before you realise. My family sessions are designed to capture the connections, the chaos, and the quiet tenderness that define your family right now.
Forget stiff poses and forced smiles. We start with a relaxed walk or some play, and I photograph what happens naturally. Kids are free to run, explore, and be themselves. The images I deliver are genuine, joyful, and full of the energy that makes your family who they are. Parents often tell me they did not even notice the camera after the first few minutes.
"The best family photos are the ones where everyone is actually having fun."
Southampton is full of beautiful locations for family sessions. Southampton Common offers woodland paths and open meadows. Riverside Park has wonderful light along the river. For a coastal feel, Calshot Beach and the shores of the Solent are hard to beat. I will help you choose a spot based on the season, the time of day, and what your family enjoys.
Whether it is a milestone birthday, a seasonal mini session, or simply a moment to pause and document where you are as a family, I would love to be part of it. Extended family, grandparents, and the family dog are always welcome.

FAQ
Common Questions
What if my children will not sit still or cooperate?
That is completely normal and honestly makes for the best photographs. I specialise in capturing natural, unscripted moments. We let the kids play, explore, and be themselves. The genuine giggles, curious glances, and spontaneous hugs are what you will treasure most.
Where are the best spots for family sessions in Southampton?
Some of my favourites include Southampton Common, the Royal Victoria Country Park, and Riverside Park. For coastal vibes, Calshot Beach and Lepe Country Park are stunning. I will recommend a location based on the season, the time of day, and the look you are going for.
How should we prepare the kids for the session?
Keep it simple. Make sure they are well rested and fed before we start. Bring a favourite snack and a small toy as a backup. Beyond that, the less structured it feels for them, the better. I will handle the rest with games, prompts, and natural direction.
Can grandparents or extended family join the session?
Absolutely. My Extended package is designed for exactly this. We can include grandparents, cousins, and the family dog. I will plan the session so we get a mix of the full group, smaller family units, and individual portraits.
What time of day is best for outdoor family photos?
The hour before sunset, often called golden hour, gives the warmest and most flattering light. Morning sessions can also work beautifully, especially in summer when evenings are busy. I will suggest the best timing based on the time of year and your family routine.
