Tiny moments, infinite love

What to Expect

Those fleeting first days, forever kept

The first few days with your newborn pass in a blur of love, exhaustion, and wonder. The tiny fingers wrapped around yours, the impossibly small toes, the peaceful expression during a milk-drunk nap -- these details change so quickly. A newborn session gives you a way to hold onto them, to remember just how small and new and perfect everything was at the very beginning.

My sessions are gentle, unhurried, and always led by your baby. There is no schedule to keep and no pose to force. We work around feeds, nappy changes, and cuddles, taking exactly the time we need. I bring everything required, including soft wraps, blankets, and simple props, so all you need to do is relax and enjoy the experience.

"You never get these days back. But you can keep the way they felt."

The ideal time for a newborn session is within the first two weeks, when babies are naturally sleepy and settle into those beautiful curled-up poses. I recommend booking during your pregnancy so we can pencil in a tentative date and confirm once your baby arrives. Sessions can take place in the comfort of your own home in Southampton or at my studio setup, whichever feels easier for you.

Safety is my first priority. I am trained in safe newborn posing and handling, and I never compromise on comfort. Family and sibling photos are always included as part of the session, because this is a chapter that belongs to everyone. The result is a collection of soft, timeless images that your family will treasure for generations.

FAQ

Common Questions

When is the best time to book a newborn session?

The ideal window is within the first 14 days while babies are naturally sleepy and curl up beautifully. I recommend booking during your pregnancy, around 6 to 7 months, so we can pencil in a tentative date. Once your baby arrives, we will confirm the exact day based on your recovery and the baby's routine.

Is the session safe for my baby?

Your baby's safety and comfort is my absolute priority. I am trained in safe newborn posing techniques and never force any position. Sessions are always baby-led, meaning we work around feeds, nappy changes, and settling time. The room is kept warm and calm throughout.

Do you come to our home or do we come to you?

Both options are available. Home sessions are wonderfully relaxed and convenient when you have a newborn. I bring all the wraps, blankets, and props needed. Alternatively, my studio setup in Southampton offers a controlled environment with professional lighting and backdrops.

How long does a newborn session actually take?

A full newborn session can take up to 3 hours, but there is no rush. Most of that time is spent allowing the baby to feed, settle, and sleep. I work at your baby's pace. Mini sessions are shorter, around 1 hour, and focus on a few simple, beautiful setups.

Can we include family and sibling photos in the session?

Yes, and I strongly encourage it. We usually start with family and sibling portraits while everyone is fresh, then move into the individual newborn poses. It is a lovely way to document this special chapter for the whole family.
